Biography

Sarah Phymm

The Dutch indie pop/rock band Sarah Phymm (Leiden, The Netherlands) started her musical adventure in 1998. In the Spring of 2000 they released their demo album "Incense, Myrrh & Gold", after which they toured throughout the Netherlands. It was well received by the critics (e.g. Local Hero in LiveXS). Their next EP "Memories of Things that Never Happened" was released in the summer of 2007 and was well received by Musicfrom.nl, LiveXS, and FileUnder.nl. After several changes in band formation, they have finally formed the current lineup with two of the original band members. Ambience, emotion and integrity are key elements in Sarah's music. Being influenced by bands ranging from the sixties to the nineties, the songs are diverse, yet, collectively shape the very sound of Sarah. Some songs are moody and dark, while others breathe the elegance and simplicity of Summer. During live performances, Sarah's aim is to submerge the audience in her music and her inner thoughts. Sarah Phymm's new cd "Bright Shining Stars" has been released by Minderbinder Music in March 2009.
